About Me

Portrait of Michael Ramos

Hello! I’m Michael Ramos, a dedicated and passionate undergraduate Computer Science student at California State University, Los Angeles, with an expected graduation date of Spring 2026. My focus lies in front-end web development, accessibility, and user-centered design — building clean, responsive, and inclusive digital experiences.

I currently work as an ITS Accessibility Tester at CSULA, where I collaborate with developers and digital teams to ensure our web platforms meet WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility standards. I perform audits using tools such as JAWS, WAVE, Equidox, ANDI, and CommonLook, and provide technical feedback to improve usability for all users — including those with disabilities. I’ve also earned certification as a Section 508 Trusted Tester through the Department of Homeland Security.

My technical toolkit includes HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Python, Git, and Bootstrap — with a strong emphasis on clean, scalable design. I’ve developed personal portfolio websites, team-based web applications, and academic accessibility projects, always with a strong commitment to empathy-driven development.

Outside of the classroom and code, I’ve volunteered since 2016 with Monte Sion’s Food Bank, supporting weekly outreach events and learning firsthand how consistent service makes a lasting impact. This experience has shaped my work ethic, leadership, and attention to community needs.

My career goal is to work as a front-end developer at a mission-driven company where I can build visually compelling, accessible websites and applications. I'm especially interested in working in tech-forward environments like Silicon Valley or with global nonprofits and startups prioritizing inclusive design and accessibility.

Fun fact: Outside of tech, I’m a huge music lover and have been playing guitar for years. I find creative energy and focus through music! It's a passion that keeps me grounded and inspired.
